Re: 4-cycle clone class

Well, I have raced the C200 several times now and the fun continues. I can get into the high 56's occasionally and the C200 is a midpack runner in a field of B&S Animals. The only modification lately has been to shave more off the ignition key to advance the ignition. I am about halfway across t...

Re: 4-cycle clone class

The only rules that are vaguely applicable are the Honda ASN rules. I have built my motor to mimick these rules. There are some variations between the clone and the honda such as the valve caps and larger carburator on the clone but for now neither Dan or I have made any real modifications. The Edmo...

Re: 4-cycle clone class

No, but I am keeping an eye on it. I think the modified clones are pulling more rpm than I am though. They are using the GX390 carb and a different cam among other things. I am basically stock.

Re: 4-cycle clone class

The DC-One C200 saw its first race action today with a grid of nine 4 cycle competitiors (7 B&S Animals, one Geniune Honda and the C200). Was able to be 4th fastest in practice. Today was pea pick for the first 12 lap heat and reverse grid for the second 12 lap heat and best points grid for the ...

Re: 4-cycle clone class

Last night was the second session with the C200 speed machine. No changes since last time but now the lap times are down to the low 59's. This is due in part mostly to getting my 4 stroke lines down and keeping my gas foot in it. I even got in some wheel to wheel action with Chris Featherstone. I st...

Re: 4-cycle clone class

The Formula C-200 saw its first track time last night. It's been a couple years since I last drove a 4 stroke kart. A couple things were figured out. First of all the stock valve springs are pretty weak and the valves float at about 5500rpm. Best laptimes so far going CW south chicane was a 1.02.52....

Re: 4-cycle clone class

Response to the clone project has been quite positive with many interested parties and a few taking on their own projects. Here are a few more detailed pics of my throttle assembly and top plate. What to do on raceday when you are new.

It has been awhile since I was new but thought it might be helpful for the new racers to have it all layed out. (Edited May 10, 2022) To do list: -The night before the race, don't forget to charge your transponder. -Register for the CKRC race you want to run on http://www.motorsportreg.com registrat...
