Re: Uneven Tire Wear

Hi Cabel, First thing I'd do is throw a Sniper alignment tool on it to check & see what your camber is like. That may have changed when you adjusted the steering. Normally we get wear on the insides of the right tires when running the CCW direction. I have to swap my tires after each race to kee...

Re: masters set up + tire pressure's questions

Hi Jason, There is no real correct answer, but the easiest place to start is to find someone on the grid that's using the same model of kart to yours, and see how they have it set up. I run a Birel, and ran about the same tire pressure as you, and I too was losing rear grip towards the end of the ra...

Re: Tire / wheel stretch or no stretch

I'm one of those guys, and you nailed the theory!

I haven't had the chance to do back to back comparisons, but putting the wider rim on a tire is definitely a bit more work.
For the Brigg's classes you don't need to have bead screws.

Re: Handheld battery operated air compressor

Looks impressive, and I'm sure a lot less hassle than hauling around an air tank.
Any idea how long the battery lasts?

Used Kart Marketplace

I'm considering putting up a bulletin board in the Try A Kart classroom, listing available karts that potential new members might be interested in purchasing. 16% of the Try A Kart attendees end up joining the club, and if we can make it easier for them to acquire a 'known-quality' kart, it should h...

Re: Track Direction

Personally, I like a 50/50 split simply for the variety.

But if we are destroying tires that quickly going in the CW direction, it begs the question, are we using the correct tires in the first place?!?!?

Re: Rookie Advice on Weight Class

If you're a member, and the track is open prior to the Rookie School, you can definitely put your kart on track. If you are not a member, there is a nominal fee ($50 I think) to be a Test & Tune day member. Either way, club members will definitely help you get up to speed. We love sharing what l...

Re: Rookie Advice on Weight Class

Hi Cabel, Spring is coming, just not fast enough! Jack's spreading some great advice. Since it's your first year, I'd get out and practice as much as you can without any weight. When you're comfortable, which might be the first race of the year, jump in the Senior class and see how it goes. If it lo...

Re: New forum member with question

Welcome to our club forum! In terms of engines, we run 3 different classes. Briggs & Stratton LO206 Four Stroke This is a sealed engine to ensure consistency across the board. For Seniors horsepower is approximately 9 hp. There is very little that can be legally done to the engine. Grinding the ...

Re: New Podium for 2019 - Masters Plus @ 400lb?

2018 Steve Orton 367 pounds - no lead. 8 lbs req'd to meet class minimum. In 2019, I'll be Dave Cameron's doppelgänger!!! Ernie has some great points. The new class could work if there was a restriction that NO lead could be added to the kart for drivers in this class. That would keep it an even pla...
