Re: Welcome to the Rotax Masters Forum

Just for curiousity, I'll take an informal poll and see how many drivers have to add weight to their karts to make the Masters minimum. If the vast majority have to, it might be worthwhile considering the WCC weight. It surely wouldn't hurt our backs if the lifting was easier. As for the Mojo tires,...

Re: Welcome to the Rotax Masters Forum

I don't think the weight is really an issue regarding WCC attendance. I think it's the cost, the travel, and the 3 long weekends spent away from family that hurts it. It would be nice to be consistent with the WCC, but I think the average weight of our CKRC Masters drivers is closer to the 395 lb we...

Re: Welcome to the Rotax Masters Forum

Some really good thoughts and conversation. When I think of the Masters grid, I'd have to estimate that probably half do not have to add any weight. Some like Tom M. need something like 60 pounds of weight, and I can tell you, I hate lifting his kart as much as the next guy. However, if either of us...

Welcome to the Rotax Masters Forum

In 2011 we finally got our own class allowing us to race separately from the Seniors, and now we have our own forum! :D The Masters class has seen great growth in the 2 years we've been running, many times we've had the largest grid of all the Rotax classes. At the last race of the season, we had 16...

Re: WCC Calgary-Separate Masters division?

I've thought about that in the past; it would probably be a good idea if we can get enough of the other Masters posting in it.
Right now, there are only a few of us that are in here regularly.

Re: Anyone going to the track Aug 10 or 11?

Hi Thomas,

I was just there tidying up my trailer, and Allen Berg has a session going on until at least 4:00, so the gates will be open for awhile tonight. Hope that helps.

Re: WCC Calgary-Separate Masters division?

If you weren't in decent shape, you wouldn't have this problem! :P

But having to lift 250 lbs regularly will only ensure that you're fit, or break your back!

Good luck at the races this weekend! I know there's a few of us missing, but I hope there's a great Masters turnout.

Re: WCC Calgary-Separate Masters division?

Crap! We've lost another Masters driver from this weekends event!

I guess on a positive note, that just gives everyone else a better chance of reaching the podium.... :(

C'mon old guys, get your butts out to the races.

Re: WCC Calgary-Separate Masters division?

That is correct. I believe John Kwong will once again be doling out the spaces, so watch the forums to see when he starts drawing up the parking map. I asked him to put us together, hopefully the 4 spots that I requested for you are adequate. You're welcome to take advantage of our trailer for the w...

Track closed Monday July 30 thru Wednesday August 1, 2012

Varsity Speed Park will be closed and unavailable from dusk (9:00pm) on the evening of Sunday July 29 until Thursday morning, August 2 at 9:00am. This is a WCC stipulation to ensure that local drivers don't get an unfair advantage for the upcoming WCC rounds on the following August long weekend. The...
