Warburg Summer Challenge attendance

Post by Joey Guyon »

Hi all,

Amidst the rain here in Warburg we are planning the Rotax Summer Challenge.

Who would like to attend with their Shifter?

We are looking to gauge attendance in order to properly plan the event.

What are we talking about here Joey? Where is the race, when are you thinking, and what separates it from a normal club race?

Interested to hear more too.

In response to one of Nathan's questions, I believe it's at Warburg ;). There's a clue in the title!

The Summer Challenge Is normally over 3 days and ran at Warburg. Its normally a prize race put up by various sponsors and normally included the Super Pole cash. I cant talk of what may be on offer yet but it is normally a great weekend of racing at a great family club.

The general concept we laid out on saturday as it pertains to shifter would be:
Optional thursday/friday practice
Saturday evening racing, in conjuction with Briggs classes
Dd2 allowed
Standing start
$150 ish entry fee
Cash prizes

Looking for minimum 8 pre entries 10 days prior in order to set the schedule

Thoughts/questions?

A night race sounds awesome. When are you guys thinking about it?

Like all shifter events, attendance will be driven by prospect of good attendance...

So all I can say is I am definitely interested, but would only commit if we knew we were going to get that 10+ Grid. We can start to build the hype early and feel out all the calgary shifter guys at the next race and see how many of us can commit.

The entire event is held July 28-31, though the shifter night race would be July 30th.

Let's chat this weekend and see if we can round up enough entries!

What are the rules. A blanket weight for TM does not work for us. With the big difference in horsepower we would not participate

In an effort to keep my intended post inline now is a good time for me to respond. I think before diving into any rules, the edkra needs to know how many people at this point would be interested at a 40% commitment level. If there are less than 10, the category likely shouldn't be offered. If there is interest however; let the rules begin!
