Briggs Carb cap - Tech inspection rules

Post by pauldeadman »

Hi all,

We attended the Western Championship this past weekend in Saskatoon and during the tech inspection George was DQ'd for having a loose Carb cap. Two other boys also fell foul to this rule, including Aiden from our club.

Attached is a picture. The black line was drawn on the carb and then tightened up. As you can see it didn't move much but it was enough for a DQ. Its written in the ASN rules that the cap must be tight. The slide tool was still legal BTW!! So don't think just because that's ok you are safe.

Sharing this so you don't get Dq'd at future events including the Summer Challenge and our home races.

Good luck to everyone going to EDM.

All the best

Just so I'm clear....the gauge did NOT go into the carb inlet (legal) but you were DQ'd anyway just because the cap was loose ?
