Re: Phil Kristensen (1946-2024)

Well said John, regarding Phil Kristensen. I started karting about 1986 at Kart Gardens by the airport, which became Airport Trail. Then we built on Race City land (Varsity Speed Park) until the City decided to build a recycling plant, we were there 13 years. Strathmore has stabilized the CKRC ...

Re: Lost & Found

FOUND - Remains of a goPro camera Sunday July 21 near Marshal Post 1 (my home away from home). I saw something fly off a kart which turned out to be just a piece of foam, but found half of a goPro against the straw bales at the bottom of the downhill run across the track from Post 1. The camera is ...

Re: Alternate Race Formats, Awards and Track Records

Alternate Race Formats, Awards and Track Records

Philosophical thoughts for a more inclusive trophy system, alternate race formats and track records.

- Freelance thinking about an alternative trophy system. The problem with providing the traditional 3 trophies for each class for each race is cost and redundancy. If you finish top 3 every race ...

Santa's magic only works on December 24, you'll have to rely on your own resources, or Joey's.

Ghosts of Strathmore

A Story for Hallowe'en:
Ghosts of Strathmore, the tragic legend of Margay McCulloch.
We play in our racing karts, tiny replicas of the mighty fearsome, fast and priceless machines of our racing heroes. Some of us have, and will go on to careers in full sized race machines, even Formula One, Indycar ...

Re: The mysteriously unbeatable Briggs motor that won 2 Senior 4-Cycle Champinships (2008-2009) for Brian "Flash" Grant.

Speaking of old kart tracks. I take the c-train from Southland to downtown and on the west side before the 39th street station a new chainlink fence is going up, for, i presume, a storage yard, that used to be a rental track i knew as Kart World (John Kwong knows it by another name, and could give a ...

Oh yeah, i remember that hawk! He or she knew whose territory it was. Sure enough, after 13 years the C&DKRC left town!
