Re: VLR fuel
We've always run the co-op 91 octane, and had very little problems. There are things to look out for, but I won't repeat what others have already stated. One thing I'll state though, always always empty the fuel from the carb, so the ethanol doesn't harden the diaphram prematurely. I connect my pop-...

Re: Used Levanto Practise tires - $80/100
I'll definitely take some Cyrus. I'm still on my original set which has been through two NO49's and many other sessions.
I should count the laps. haha.

Re: 2022 VLR Roll Call
I think we are all getting too bothered about checking engines for legality. Let's leave well enough alone like previous years, and just run the dar class and have fun. Let's leave the engines legality stuff to the big events in the states. I do believe this was what we generally agreed to in the me...

Re: 2022 VLR Roll Call
If we feel it's necessary, then I'm certainly ready to pull the jug off my engine should I reach the podium. I tend to do this every couple weeks anyway to keep an eye on the piston coating. I like this better than sealing. Even without sealing, there can also be teck checks for squish and timing. A...

Re: 2022 VLR Roll Call
Can we please drop this discussion about seals? I will drop this class if we start sealing engines. It is hard enough to even want to keep racing it when CKRC is the only club around running the engine. I enjoy the racing, but let's not make it more convoluted and expensive. Please leave well enough...

Re: 2022 VLR Roll Call
I do believe even at sealed engine events, you can do repairs/rebuilds to your engine under the correct conditions. That may be showing the new/removed parts and re-presenting the engine for a re-seal. Or perhaps it was to perform the repair in front of techs in a designated area. I was looking for ...

Re: 2022 VLR Roll Call
Again, I disagree with sealing it. There is nothing to modify internally, and very little advantage to gain from rebuilding it often.
The Rotax and Briggs classes are the places for the sealed engines. Sealing this one will take away all advantages of keeping this class less expensive.
