Re: FAQ: NO49

And now my questions.

Will there be a beer garden?

Are propane fire pits permitted within the mentioned fire ban?
They are ok in BC within their ban regulations and within Alberta's fire hazard advisories.

Re: Clockwise Direction with mid track chicane?

Thanks Jack. I figured it would be not nice in the CCW direction for the reasons you mentioned. But yes of course curious as to the possibilities.

Clockwise Direction with mid track chicane?

The extra bits of asphalt were added before I started racing at this new track. Is there any chance that when we go clockwise, we could try some TnTs or maybe even a race day with the midfield chicane in play? I think this would be fun to mix up the track config a little.

Thoughts?

I also wonder if the viscosity is linear or not. I put what little data we have into an excel graph, much like what you drew up.

Fantastic information, thanks for sharing. I love putting the science behind this stuff. Now I have no idea what to use. :?

Re: Oil Talk - Good Brand / Bad Brand, etc.

Thanks, Jason L.

I've been looking at the specs of various oils as part of this discussion. Due to its lower flashpoint, I would offer a word of caution about Amsoil for 2-stroke kart engines. When things get very toasty, Amsoil may flash off early and not provide enough lubrication.

Thanks John, that really helps a lot. I've used that 800 before without issue too. I'll grab a jug from Amazon.

Re: Oil Talk - Good Brand / Bad Brand, etc.

Thanks for the response, JasonL. In the VLR class, both fuel and oil are open at the moment, so I was thinking of going for something more economical than what I have been running. Considering we are running a 25:1 mix ratio, an oil formulation that handles the RPMs yet is a bit more affordable ...
