Appreciate the insight there Nathan - already watching the classifieds for a KZ or Vortex shifter! Thanks again.

Re: Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
Appreciate the feedback Gil - is this blurb the most current info we have in terms of rules around Shifters? Basically ensure what you buy is 125cc output, with 6 gears, and kart has to weigh a min. of 375, 395 or 405 respectively? Found in the 2021 Supplemental Rules doc on the website: Shifters Ag...

Re: Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
Thanks for the link there Gil. Is the Roto Max DD2 class fairly popular (or do these guys race in the same class as Roto Max?)
Or if you're going Shifter class do most people opt for the Open Class, in which case you pick any engine under 55 hp or within those ASN rules and regs for Shifter races?

Re: Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
I love it, thanks for the vote of confidence there Nathan. Any thoughts to add in terms of purchasing vs building a Shifter for that matter (which complies with all the CKRC regs)?

Re: Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
Thank you Keith I will get on the Facebook page! One last question comes to mind - would you say the majority of folks around here purchase "turnkey" used/new karts from dealers where the chassis and engine and all necessary parts are pre built? Or are there a lot out there who have experi...

Re: Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
Thank you very much Phil and Jack for the added comments. Definitely won't discount the ability to learn more on the Briggs before diving in to one of the hardcore classes. Is there by chance a Discord or Facebook group etc., to keep up with announcements and chat with members? Or are the forums her...

Re: Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
Really appreciate the detailed reply Keith. I think besides the due diligence into upfront cost & running costs of the different options, I should be all set to make a decision! Do you know of many who started out with the ROK VLR (or the Rotax Max) over a Briggs? I for sure wouldn't go with a S...

Looking for "Race Career Guide" for Karting at CKRC/in Canada
Hello, New member and already avid fan of the sport. Have now attended two Try a Kart sessions and loved it both times and was told I was very close to a minute lap in the starter karts! I've read through all of the information pages on the CKRC website, and would like to find out a bit more about t...
