Re: racing in multiple classes

If you're running two separate karts it's not a big problem. They will let you jump to the front at the scales, weigh your kart, then go join the grid for the next class. Remember that your weight will drop a bit doing the two back to back, so you may find you need to add a bit to the second one. If...

Re: 2021 ckrc shifter school

I'm in! Teach me everything in six hours! If there could be a quick discussion on Mychron data, that would be helpful. I haven't looked at any data from a shifter, but I assume there would be a few key differences (gearing, brake bias, etc)

Re: Tire Rules & Race Day Format for 2021

I don't really like the ROK format, as it takes away the warm-up, which is essentially an equipment check, more than a practice. It makes for a lot more pressure getting through tech. If there is any mechanical issues at all, it can pretty much destroy your day. Running multiple classes compounds th...

Re: What tires do you have left ?

Fred, I never said anything about having to use the ticket, it was about adding expense to run the class, because there is a ticket available. The Rotax tickets are not based on a club series, they are based on a separate championship, so not a direct comparison. The engines Rotax is giving the club...

Re: What tires do you have left ?

If Joey can supply the greens, we should just leave the tire rule as it sits, and copy and paste into the 2021 regs. No need to make it any more complicated. That will also allow anyone who has tires left for four stroke to have an outlet for them (and potentially add some karts to the grid)

Re: What tires do you have left ?

Am I the only one that sees the irony in "the affordable two stroke class" making it so we can't use the equipment we already have, so that there can be a ticket to a race that will cost the winner at least 5k to participate? And a season long savings of $70 to use a different tire, as opp...

Re: What tires do you have left ?

This class, as Dave stated was brought in to be an "additional" class, to allow a bridge between Briggs and Rotax, with the intent being you could use everything you already have for your 4 stroke kart, including tires, rims, and chassis. I believe this outlook (from a club perspective ) h...

Re: What tires do you have left ?

I think the VLR should, at the very least, be on the same tire as some other classes, and also at a similar grip level to the Vega Greens. They are fun to drive, and easy on the body, but if you start adding grip, that could change. I currently have one new set of Greens, but they can be put to use ...

Re: New for 2021 - Trailer and Storage Questions

Hi Shaun,

Hopefully you are recovering well. If you're interested in trying the different classes, Alan has Briggs, VLR , Rotax, and Shifter in his rental fleet, so you could give them a try, and see which feels right for you.

Re: Appreciation

Don, and Carter, I want to personally thank the two of you for all the help with Try A Kart. It has definitely run smoother with the two of you helping. I also agree that not enough credit goes to the younger volunteers that are out helping with their parents. I know Alan has probably averaged well ...
