Traditionally, we have only run the Rookie School on a single day at the beginning of the season. With the new track this year, we are anticipating a large number of new competitors and have expanded the Rookie School to two days, May 16 and 17. The specific schedule of these days will be released later but for now we would like the Rookie's to create an account on MotorSportReg.com and then register for the school day that they plan on attending of the Rookie School.

MotorSportReg.com create account here: https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm ... ster.start

Register for Rookie School Day One here: http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/roo ... QUGQeGrGkA

Register for Rookie School Day Two here: http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/roo ... QUIUOGrGkA

Hi John,

I've tried to sign George up for the Sunday, but I don't have a transponder number yet and cannot seem to get past that step to sign him up. We will be there on the 17th if that helps you arrange stuff.

thanks
Paul

All registrations are done through MotorSportReg.com.

For now just enter 123456 and change it when you get your own transponder.

Hi John, is there a on track portion to the rookie school. Should I bring my kart out on Saturday?

Hi Dennyb,

It is mostly classroom and yes you should bring your kart as there is an on track portion of the Rookie School.

As of today, May 8, there are 34 drivers signed up for the Rookie School. That is unheard of for the CKRC and we look forward to welcoming all the new faces to our club. I know there is a ton of information that the new karters are digesting as we get closer to the first race. Here is a link to a piece I wrote several years ago to help new racers so they know what to do on their first race day.

Can we get some info on the rookie school -schedule, start time, finish time, what to bring, etc.

I am particularly interested in how this is to work with juniors. Will they be separated ?

Rookie school starts 10am and will consist of around 2 hours classroom and then some track sessions and will end by 2pm. I have to check yet to see if the circuit is usable and if it is bring your kart .. if not we will reshedule the track part later in the week. Bring a pen for the written exam and lots of enthusiasm.

We are going to have written exams for Jr 1's !?

Just to be clear, these sessions are for ALL rookies, including juniors ?
