Grandtands

Post by Tony »

Just an update on the grandstand status:

This is probably the priority at the facility - but we recognized that it was not going to be completed for this weekend.

We have still to do:

Pack the newly re- leveled gravel base
move the stands into place on the packed base
Re install the small cover plates between the three sections of stands ( volunteer work)

Terry F. has replaced the handrail at the front with round bar (this can be painted Tremclad blue when ever someone has time). We will also be raising the front handrails but this will not require repainting.

Netting for the side rails can be installed as soon as it arrives (now due in Calgary Monday 13th - should be at track early next week and can be installed immediately - sheet metal screws and washers)

We MIGHT get the stands ready by the TAK weekend, more likely during the TAK weekend and after that it must be approved by our engineer. So the earliest this is likely is by the weekend of Jul 25 /26

We expect to have the gravel based prepared and packed this weekend July 18 /19.
Will need some volunteer work through the week to have completed by next weekend and that is after a picker truck replaces them on the pad. Will update when we have idea of schedule.
Volunteers needed to install netting with #12 hex head self tapping screws (100 on hand - expect will need to source more when we have some experience installing the netting. Self tapping screws will readily go through aluminium but may help to drill small starter hole for the steel handrails.
Ideally when complete the engineer may sign off from digital pictures but likely will want to revisit the site.
