For 2020 the junior 100 VLR motor will be available for those who are 11 but turn 12 that racing year. This is a 2 stroke motor with medium power (More than a Briggs less than a Rotax) affordable at $2300 Cdn complete. This motor fits to a full size frame which you will need when jumping from Junior 1 to Junior 2.
The seniors ran 1 set of Vega Green tires, 1 Chain and 1 sprocket set all year.
To be eligible to win ROK the RIO Seats you must have turned 12 by Nov 3 2020.

If this is something that you may be considering as the next step up contact Joey Guyon at Overdrive MS for details or call me 403 305 9170 for any questions or further information.

We are now in possession of the Junior Header and will be in the position to have the engine package available for testing when the circuit opens next year. The engine package complete will be $2300 until the end of May 2020 and then will rise to $2600. If you are considering moving up to this class contact Joey as he can actually get this engine package (1 Race old) for you cheaper than this now. Weights are as the Briggs classes and this motor can be used on a full size 2 Stroke or 4 Stroke chassis. Tires are Vega Greens.
As a reminder there will be a seat at ROK the Rio 2020 for the winner of the 6 race series (If you are the only one I guess you will win). A very affordable package and a great Championship prize package (As cheap as going to the ASN Nationals) An exciting Sponsorship package to be announced shortly.

Bumping this thread…

Curious what this class will look like in 2022..
  • Will it be running with Jr Rotax or Jr Briggs
  • Will it be using the levanto tires (Regs mention maxxis)
Any other parents interested in the JR. VLR?

Curious to see how this plays out. I Can see this as a replacement to Jr2 Briggs.

Pros:

-Jr2 is the same speed as Jr 1 and Senior so this is a good stepping stone if you see VLR or Rotax in your future; more speed and roughly double the cost of Briggs and half that of Rotax.
-Simple and inexpensive to jump to VLR Sr.

Cons:

-Double the (motor) cost of Jr 2 Briggs
-A step in the wrong direction if you see a progression to Sr. Briggs (still the tightest racing and best bang for your buck).
-We don't have space in the race day for another grid so this would have to replace something or run along with another class

It would run in with Junior Rotax on LeVanto tires . I wouldn't see it replacing either Rotax Junior or Junior Briggs ... just another option to offer people, with the possibility of seats to The Nationals (in the next year or so) or Las Vegas 2022.
