Final Club Photo at Varsity Speed Park

The double-header is coming up next weekend and it will be our most well attended race weekend of the year. We would like to get a shot of all the drivers in their karts, all the volunteers, marshals and familes, with the track in the background to remember this fine facility.

We are trying to get both the Calgary Sun and the Calgary Herald to send our their photographers and get a story written about the CKRC’s last days at the last and only remaining piece of Race City. It would get the club some badly needed publicity, and would let the public know that there still is racing in Calgary. We would like to be able to hang this photo in our new clubhouse, once it is built.

We are planning to take the photo right after the lunch break on the Saturday (approx. 12:30), before the afternoon sessions get going. Since it is a Saturday, people aren’t in such a rush to pack up and get away from the track, so the 20 or 30 extra minutes this would add to the day won’t be a great hardship. With the crowd from Edmonton coming down, it would just show how large karting is in Calgary.

So please plan for this, and for those members that attend the Test & Tunes, but do not race, it is a great opportunity to come out and show how large and strong our club is. Could everyone pass this information around so that we can have the largest possible showing.
