I have now made contact with the Maxxis importer in the US who is sending two sets of tires free of charge for me to test in Phoenix in a couple of weeks time. I will be testing two compounds the Maxxis Sport (Which JK used) and the Maxxis Prime (a little softer).
I will be testing them against two known tires as a comparison The Mojo D2 and the Vega Green......I will let you know how the testing goes.
What tires do you have left ?

Re: What tires do you have left ?
Their website says the Prime and the sport are the same compound, with one being CIK approved (Prime) and the Sport is not...does CIK approval matter to us?
Primes are about 10% more expensive ($49 vs $45/tire for the rear) ...so if CIK doesn't matter, and cost effective is key, let's just run with Sports...

No we don't need CIK rating .. the Prime is a little softer according to their durometer data .. they wanted to send wet tires to test too (in Phoenix) but the open wet tire is probably the way to continue.
Anyone want to come to Phoenix to test?

SO...won't softer mean quicker wear? Although probably still good enough for 2 sets per year...
If I could get vaccinated before, I'd go

Yeah I aint bothering ... will have to do 3 COVID Tests in 8 days now though.. the US one will cost $75 US to do at the airport before boarding .. rapid test on landing then 5 - 7 days after that.
I've had COVID so I'm pretty much covered as much as any vaccine would offer.

And no matter how many tests are required and fulfilled, you still need that 2 week quarantine upon returning!!
