I've been lurking the forums for a few years, waiting to finally get my hands on my first kart. Finally ended up getting a kart ( dd2 ) & got it tuned up at Joey's shop over the winter.
I'm not looking to race, strictly would be just joining in on the Tuesday & Thursday test & tunes when I can get myself to the track to get some laps in.
Was hoping to just clarify a few things before heading to the track.
1) Are all Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-8pm ( assuming good weather ) a good time to drop by? Or is it only when a certified supervisor is onsite. How does one know if they will be there?
2) For member dues how do I go about registering & paying. I also recall reading members being required to help out around the track, I would love to help, where is this coordinated?
3) Are there any requirements for rookie drivers before they can get on the track eg: a specific course?
Im sure i will end up with another 100 questions, if anyone wants to share any pointers that would be amazing.
Really looking forward to this season!

Tyler,
Welcome to the club. To answer your questions:
There is a calendar on the club website where you can confirm but generally every Tuesday & Thursday are T&T nights. The club provides supervisors to allow members to drive. When you join, you’ll be added to a mailing list and receive news if events are cancelled or rescheduled for any reason.
There are links in the club homepage to start the registration process. As we are a member-run volunteer organization, we all need to pitch in. You’ll receive emails over the course of the season as we’re looking to recruit people for required work.
There is a Rookie School and track orientation required. There are some orientations scheduled for this week, you’ll receive info upon registration with info in how to progress.
There any many (any?) DD2s at the club, so you’ll certainly have a unique ride. Enjoy the season!

Hey, I am a rookie from Calgary as well, who just went through the process yesterday of registering and doing the mandatory school and quiz etc. Shoot me a DM, maybe we can hit the track together to feel less intimidated lol. Cheers
