I think it is an ASN rule more than a club rule. Don't know why it would matter as long as you run the same tires all day long.

So I can't run one mojo, one bridgestone, one hoosier, and one vega?
This sounds like that George Thorogood song - One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer :P

The Book 2 states

"For Qualifying, Pre Final and Final races, competitors may only use one set of four dry tires"

I dont see the word matched !! because the tire choice is open and there is no specific type attached to the class we had better decide if the word "matched or of the same manufacturer and compound" be put into the Supp regs !! lol

Hi Fred,

I think I'll contradict my earlier statement. John makes a good point, it doesn't really matter as long as the same set of tires are used from Quali on. In recent years we have been marking tires on a fairly regular basis, and this combined with our open compound rule for 2012 should eliminate the need for all four corners of the kart to have the same compound. The reason we went to the open tire rule is most tires used in our class are "hand me down" tires from the 2-stroke ranks. Further complicating this system with saying we need one common compound on the kart will defeat the purpose of the open rule.

So to clarify:

Any tire compound can be used in Sr. 4-Stroke Light and Heavy.
