Got the JR1 out for his first outing Friday... Kart is an older PCR picked up last fall... On the 15th lap or so, he lost the brakes. Pushing down the pedal would move the pads, but only slightly. Tried bleeding it but was not getting much of a squirt out of it, so I removed the master cyl. Got it apart today and find that one of the seals has a nick in it.

Finding anything about this Master cyl online is proving to be hard.... likely obsolete.

The bore measures .813 (13/16 is pretty close to that), and they are lip seals... two of them. Anyone have something in the toolbox from back in the day? LOL!

The bolt pattern seems to be 35mm, and that seems to be fairly common so maybe I will have to update it if nothing is found.

Get in contact with Joey Guyon @ Overdrive. He'll probably have the rebuild seals that you need.
I've rebuilt 2 in the past month, and it's a simple job. Just replace the seals, then refill and bleed. The bleeding will probably be the most difficult task.

Check for any cracks on the blue block. It isn't common, but we had 1 that was cracked.

The seals are fairly standard; you shouldn't have trouble getting them.

That said, check the bore for grooves and roundness. If the bore is worn, new seals won't help much. A new master cylinder can be had for under $100 if yours is pooched.

Having just purchased a new master cylinder, you'd be looking at less than $200...

Joey has what I need for the master cyl, and the bore still looks OK... can see most of the blue anodizing still.
