First off merry Christmas to everyone. This post is intended as an open discussion for any rule changes for the 2019 season as well as a roll call for all current shifter pilots as well as interested parties. Starting this discussion early so hopefully we can drum up some more interest for this class then last year and return to the numbers seen in 2016 and 2017. This class looks promising for the coming season with some new drivers, as well as returning.

Is everyone ok with the weights from last year at 405 for kz, 395 for icc, Hobby kz and ROK? I’d propose a moto drop to 375 or 370 if there is anyone running one of these motors who can get down to that weight.

I think the reduction in Moto weight is fine to 375 or 370. Think the rules we have going are fine for now, the only thing I would suggest is having the weights be just a set of gentleman's rules as it caused a bunch of confusion on the scales last year. No need to have the club enforce them, if you see someone beating you and they are rolling across 10lbs light, just talk to the shifter rep and we can chat with them. Was annoying having to strap a bunch of lead and run a full tank last year only to step on the scales and be 0.5lb under.

Any ideas for promoting the class and growing our turnouts should get the priority this year, maybe a shifter demo day where we let some of the other racers get a taste for it?

In agreeance with that Nathan. Obviously if someone is excessively under weight and there’s complaints it shouldn’t be allowed but 0.5lbs is hardly anything and positions should be earned on the track instead of on the scales in this class in my opinion. 0.5lbs in this class is very easy to be under by considering the fuel burn on these karts as an aborted start or two could make that difference.

In a recent email, Joey proposed to put the class regulation weight according to the engine spec on a nasseau panel sticker. That should get rid of the confusion at the scales. I think it is important to minimize subjectivity and ambiguity.
