My engine hits the rev limiter at (according to the gopro speedometer) at 77 to 78 kph. when on youtube i see videos from this class at the track getting 80+ just fine. any idea how i can fix this or is the gopro speedometer wrong?

The rev limiter is not regulated by speed, it is regulated by rpm. Gearing changes speed versus rpm, so the simple answer is gearing. You failed to mention what you're seeing for rpm. The limiter should cut in around 6100 rpm, so you will likely see your peak rpm somewhere between 6050, and 6150. Depending on which class you're running, and how you do in the previous corner, you will hit the limiter in different areas.

In the Briggs Masters going counter-clockwise I'm seeing 83 kph on my Mychron when I nail the final corner properly. As Phil mentioned, the more speed that you can carry through that corner will give you the best top end.
What class and gearing are you currently running?
Most new drivers tend to gear for more acceleration (more teeth on the rear) to get out of the slow corners until they get up to speed. That will result in a lower top end speed. Unfortunately with the Briggs, you can't have it both ways. I hope that helps.
