Cleaning race suit??

Post by Evan_S »

Any advice for cleaning race suits?

Inclined to simply spot stain remove and hand wash but imagine there are tried and true methods out there?

Thanks!

If you find something, let me know haha. I have found that once there are stains, its kinda game over / pointless to remove. I wash mine in the wash with detergent and follow the tag, I think over time stains aren't as prominent, but that's about it.

Hey Evan. Phil & Jack both suggest Molecule stain remover. From Phil:

"Molecule stain remover, with a bit of scrubbing, and molecule detergent in the wash. Not perfect, but works well."

I just cleaned a couple of race suits and they came out like new with CleanGo and oxy and soaked in a pail for a couple of hours and then put them in the washining machine and then hung to dry

WD-40 actually works quite well as a stain/grease remover.
It's what my wife uses on my shirts when I spill...
The suits seem to come out of the washing machine quite clean.

Thanks Andy & Steve,
Our Molecule kit arrived yesterday so will give them a try over the weekend then try your methods if it doesn't come out squeaky clean.
