The more I watch my little guy run around at Kid Kart, the more I wanna play too but a kart for me is not in the cards right now.
Been looking into Sim Racing and I'm more than capable of building a rig but I'm confused on systems, controls, etc.

We have an Xbox One X, any suggestions on pedal/wheel sets for this system? What are your favorite games?

Unfortunately, Xbox may be the worst platform for sim racing. F1 can be played on just about any platform. There’s a lot available for PC, and PS has Gran Turismo - which has, by far, the largest user base. Forza for Xbox pales in comparison.

Rig choice is largely driven by one’s budget. I find that Fanatec provides a good balance of quality and price, and has a lot of accessories available.

I upgraded my sim this past winter. I've got a 5 year old Thrustmaster wheel & pedals and they work just fine.
I had a Logitec wheel prior but it didn't seem to work that well with my games.

I was debating the same thing on which platform to use, XBOX, Playstation, PC but I'm in no way a gamer, so I went with what I knew.
I bought a mini gaming computer off of Amazon that works beautifully; they're anywhere from $300-$600.
I've got a Steam account and purchased F1 2024 when it was on sale at Christmas. I've been taking out Max ever since....

It works for me and is all I need.

Good to know, I appreciate the input. I wondered about the Xbox thing, it didn't seem to be too popular and if I'm gonna do it I'd rather spend the money on a more supported system. Thank you!

Thank you! I was looking at Logitech simply because of the brand recognition but that's good to know. It does definitely seem like the PS5 and PC are more supported than Xbox, and I used to do a lot of PC gaming but I'm so out of touch with things now! I'll keep my eye out for one of those two platforms over the next bit and see what I can find. Thanks!

We started with sim on Xbox and first bought an Xbox compatible thrustmaster wheel and pedal set. I quickly found that I didn’t like the “button” feel of the brakes and upgraded to the more advanced thrustmaster pedal set. There is a folding chair made for sim racing that’s pretty affordable as well. That combo got us set up right away and allows us to remove it and put it away easily.

Be forewarned, it’s a gateway to bigger things! We now have a 5 axis motion sim with moza wheel, fans and a bunch of other attachments.

On Xbox we used F1 which works fine. For pc we have r-factor and racing. The former has better physics and the latter better multiplayer gameplay. There’s also assetto corsa which to me is a blend of the two but is apparently easier to develop custom race tracks for. Compared to those I find F1 very video game like and less sim like. My kids like F1 best.
