Hey,

So recently picked up a Kart for masters Lo206, unfortunately it needs more work that I anticipated. Going into this knowing nothing .. flying blind so other than ol YouTube, best way of attack to get this kart running the best it can..
Did an oil change, little to none in it to begin with, need to bleed the brakes.. is the tool needed or can one do it with syringes? Need to change out the throttle slide to a masters setup.. unsure if it's just straight forward changing out cylinder. When running the motor she has issues staying running unless under throttle, and back fires as well.. drop some knowledge on me..

Brakes question depends on the kind of brakes. a picture would be helpful.

The slide you need for all Senior classes is the shortest one and it's black. Unless you bought your motor from a Junior, it probably already has the black slide in it.

Adjusting idle could be as simple as turning the adjustment screw on the front of the carb. If that doesn't have any effect, check the needle in the slide is the right one (marked "BGB") and is in good condition.Ensure the clip on the needle is on at least the second position down from the top. Backfiring is valve seats and/or valve lash settings. Get it to idle first. Set it at about 2000rpm.

Lots of info there along with drawings that will help you locate your idle adjustment.

So after some hours, I have the Kart running, brakes are bled, got a new slide for senior, dabbled into the clutch which I assume is shot as the grooves on the shoes are worn down, so I assume the springs are also done.. so just need to track down the shoes and springs and a XL seat and I think it may be road worthy... anyone have new clutch parts kicking around given the shop is closed over the long weekend.

So im at a loss, I'm having issues getting the kart rolling forward at all... I have replaced clutch springs (black) and shoes, new gas, cleaned out the carb and adjusted the needle c-clip to the lowest position. Have throttle set to around 2000rpm. Hit the gas and the kart dosnt really move.. im not a small guy - 230ish lbs. What else can I do?!

If you are using 4 black springs, the clutch is probably slipping too much and won't engage. The most common set-up for the Hilliard clutch is two black and two white springs.

Yeah im using 4 black springs, I was reading that was a better way to go given my weight.. apparently im wrong hahah, white ones on the way...

The ongoing battle continues..
What black and white springs, new clutch shoes, played with all the carb settings.. I can barely get the Kart to roll 10 from at this point.. thoughts?

You haven't given much info for us to work from and I suspect you're on a cell phone and autocorrect is screwing you up because your sentences don't make sense.

So....it starts fine and rev's quickly on the stand but when you put it on the ground and get into it, what happens ?

The rpm drops ? a little, a lot ? it stalls ?

It revs but the kart barely moves ?

Have you gone through the carb and set the air and idle screws to their default settings ? whats the float height set to ?floats don't have any fuel in them, do they ?
