Tony,

There was a pretty good turnout for the meeting. Joey filled us in on the meeting in Ontario with ASN and Briggs. After discussion it was voted to run one class of 4-cycle for 2011 under the following guidelines:

LO206 - 350lbs
Stock Animal - 350lbs
Clone * - 350lbs * not EDKRA Outlaw Clone but basically a Canada Senior type of Clone
Modified Animal(WKA Stock) at 375lbs

Open tires and all on gasoline. All race together as the 4-cycle class for the same trophies and points championship. With the longer term view to being LO206 only in 2012.

Markus as the class rep might have something to add to this but those are the highlights.

Yah but no but. :P ;)

So to keep things clear for those that are new to our sport.

No, the TKM K4S is not eligible for the CKRC 4-cycle class but can run in the open class.

John

how does this square with the idea of having a sealed engine, similar to the rotax so that it can't be worked on.

Remember I'm not a mechanic ;)

Vince,

The LO206 is sealed from the factory and is only sealed once. There are two seals on the bottom end sidecover. The retailers/shops cannot re-seal these engines. If your engine becomes worn out or has a bottom end failure, then a new sealed bottom end can be purchased. The original bottom end is not re-buildable to be used as an LO206. For 2011, the LO206 would be the only sealed engine amongst the other runners. Anything outside of the seal can be tuned just like a normal Animal or C200(clone) engine. This by no means leaves the LO206 at a disadvantage as it seems to have a good cam in it and there really is no reason to go into the case unless something is broken.

So a WKA legal stock engine would exclude the aftermarket pistons etc that were put into the Animal engines to run on Alcohol in the 2009 season?
I will likely barely make the heavier weight and will have to run the WKA legal version.

Tony,

I don't know what was exactly done to those engines back then but a definitive spec had to be laid out for the "mod" designation(375lbs). I asked and they said those were the rules that they were built to.

As a side note, for 2012 when Senior 4 cycle will most likely be LO206 only, it was discussed that there will probably be a light and heavy division with hopefully enough entries to warrant it.
