North of 49 Karting Championships

The North of 49 Karting Championship enters its third year in 2023. This year’s event promises to
capture the original spirit of the race with competition on track and a relaxed atmosphere in the
paddock. The format and points system both see changes for 2023, with an extra element added to the
Friday night running to increase the excitement around the race for spectators and drivers alike while
focusing on improving the safety aspect of on track activities.

Prizing efforts will continue, aiming to capture the entire grid with eligibility. The ‘it’s not over until it’s
over” motto remains but will see format and scoring adjustments to make it more true to the outcome
of the race. Using past experience and feedback, this years working group is looking to iterate on the
successes of the event in the past, while having a forward outlook to encompass the community as a
whole and showcase the CKRC to drivers across the country. The date for the 2023 edition of the event
will be July 28th – July 30th which conflicts with no other race in Western Canada. As a result of this and
changes to the on-track proceedings, we expect to see a growth in turnout for the third running of the
North of 49 Karting Championship.

Keep tuned to this channel for updates in the coming weeks and months.
